Kalivi Elena has been recently rebuilt from a partly collapsed small kalivi into a holiday cottage which we rent from Eastern untill the end of Octobre.
We like to share our enthusiasm for this beautiful part of Greece with other lovers of nature and authentic Greek culture. Because that is what made us decide to settle in Pelion for a large part of the year.
Kalivi Elena comprises one bedroom, one bathroom, a sitting room with two armchairs which can be converted into single beds and a fully equipped, large kitchen built in traditional style but with all modern comfort.
Outside is a hot/cold shower, a sun terrace where you can enjoy the surrounding nature and stunning views of the sea and mountains and also a shaded terrace with two loungers under a big tree near the kalivi.

A kalivi is a traditional country cottage, mostly built of stone, where the farmers' families would stay when they were working on their land.
Goats, chickens and rabbits slept downstairs and the people upstairs would benefit from their warmth.
Whilst walking along the extensive network of old connecting roads, the kalderimis, you regularly encounter kalivis, often still in use by the inhabitants of Pelion.
